A quick email this morning ahead of the Gameweek 7 deadline. All Gameweek 7 games have been postponed - no matches this weekend. The Premier League statement is here. What this all means for FPL is still a bit uncertain, but here is what we know…
The Gameweek 7 deadline remains in place
You get one free transfer as normal - see below what to do with it. You’re now planning for Gameweek 8, not Gameweek 7.
If you have triggered your Wildcard, it will roll into the next Gameweek
You won’t lose it - it will still be active next Gameweek.
Any other chips used will be reset
If you used your Triple Captain, Bench Boost or Free Hit chips, they will be reinstated.
Gameweek 8 is in doubt, too, but we don’t know
Some journalists have suggested that Gameweek 8 next weekend may also be postponed. We don’t know this for sure, but there must be a high chance that at least some games will be postponed. If this happens, you’ll then be making transfers with Gameweek 9 in mind.
Should you use transfers this week?
If you have two free transfers, use one of them this week (before today’s deadline) or you’ll lose it. You’ll then have two again next week. If you have one - and haven’t used it yet - it’s worth saving the transfer until next week, when we should know more.
Due to the uncertainty, target players good for Gameweek 8 and 9
A good example is Mitrovic, who has good fixtures from Gameweek 8. Newcastle players are also looking good. Arsenal fixtures are a bit harder, so perhaps look at moving them out.
